Everything lives in a folder on your machine. Uninstall the app and your files are still yours, because they were never anyone else's.
There's no account to create in the first place, so there's nothing to leak, sell, or lose access to. Sync between your own devices, when it ships, will work the same way: your files, moving directly, never sitting on a server in between.

Will Gnos always be free?
That's the goal. The core app (reading, audiobooks, notebooks, flashcards, and sketchbook) will be free forever. Optional cloud sync may carry a small fee later, but everything free today stays free.
Is my data safe?
Completely. Gnos is a fully offline desktop application. Nothing leaves your computer unless you explicitly move it. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, ever.
What happens to my library if I stop using Gnos?
Nothing changes. Your books, notes, and decks are plain files in a folder you chose. Delete the app and keep your library.
Who's building this?
One person, in the evenings and on weekends, not a company. If Gnos saves you a subscription, a small donation goes a long way.
